Don’t let your talent or what you are good at doing make you arrogant, disrespectful, and trample on your colleagues – Rev. Vincent Kankam (Sofo Kankam) cautions

Rev. Vincent Kankam has stressed on humility and character, urging individuals, especially the youth, not to let their talent or success lead them into pride and disrespect.
Speaking on Kessben FM’s inspirational Show “Food For Thought,” Rev. Kankam cautioned that while talent is a gift, it can become a trap if not guided by humility and discipline.
“Don’t let your talent make you too proud and disrespectful,” he said. “Gifts and abilities are meant to serve, not to inflate egos. When people start praising you, don’t let it get into your head, stay grounded.” He said.
Rev. Kankam noted that in today’s world, especially in the age of social media and celebrity culture, many people allow applause and recognition to corrupt their attitude. He emphasized that it is not talent that sustains greatness, but character, humility, and the ability to listen and grow..
The man of God stressed that true greatness lies in humility. He explained that even the most gifted individuals must remain teachable and respectful to sustain their influence and blessing.
Rev. Kankam’s words were especially directed toward the younger generation, many of whom are rapidly rising in various fields, sports, entertainment, business, and even ministry.
He also warned against the trap of public praise, explaining that applause can become addictive and misleading if not handled with wisdom.
“Not all praise is healthy. Some people will praise you into destruction. If you don’t keep your head down and your heart right, you’ll fall,” Rev. Kankam said.
Citing the Bible, Rev. Kankam reminded listeners that even Jesus, despite His divine power, walked in humility.
