Setting your own question and answering it, and scoring 72%, means you have failed – Kwadwo Boateng Agyemang Criticizes Mahama’s 72% Self-Assessment

During a recent appearance on Kessben TV’s Maakye show, Kwadwo Boateng Agyemang, former Chairman of the New Juaben North Constituency for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), expressed skepticism over President John Dramani Mahama’s self-assigned 72% score for his administration’s 120-day social contract.
Agyemang questioned the credibility of self-evaluation, stating, “If you set your own questions, answer them, and score yourself 72%, it means you have performed poorly.” He emphasized that Ghanaians, having re-elected Mahama, expected a more thorough and effective performance, especially given his extensive experience in governance.
Highlighting concerns over national debt and financial obligations, Agyemang inquired about the administration’s efforts to address these issues. He asked, “How much of the nation’s debt has he and his administration paid since they assumed office? Contractors that they are supposed to pay, have they started paying them?”
Agyemang also criticized the administration’s focus on the cedi’s performance, suggesting that celebrating a minimal drop in the dollar-to-cedi ratio without significant economic pressure is unwarranted. He remarked, “If you’ve not considered all these and you are praising yourself on a minimal drop in the dollar to cedi ratio when there is no pressure on the dollar, then it’s just noise.”
These comments reflect ongoing debates about the effectiveness of President Mahama’s early tenure and the tangible outcomes of his administration’s policies.
