2025 AFCONQ: Ghana v Sudan game to be played at Cape Coast Stadium – CAF inspects Accra & Cape Stadia

According to reports from the local media, the Black Stars of Ghana will meet Sudan at the Cape Coast Stadium.

The Baba Yara Stadium’s subpar playing surface led to its disqualification from holding Category C matches, which is why this modification occurred.

Confederation of African Football (CAF) representatives were in Ghana last weekend to inspect the stadiums in Accra and Cape Coast in preparation for potential clearance.

The Ministry of Sports ordered the inspection in order to avoid the humiliation of not having a local venue for impending international matches.

Following the inspection, word has it that Ghana’s match against Sudan’s Falcons on matchday three of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers will take place at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Ghana will now play the first leg against Sudan on Friday, October 11, and then travel to Libya on Monday, October 14, for the second game at the Martyrs of February Stadium.

In the qualifications, the Black Stars, who are going for their fifth continental championship, are still without a victory.

Otto Addo’s team was held to a 1-1 draw by Niger in Berkane after losing 1-0 to Angola at Baba Yara Stadium.

Ghana has only one point from its first two games and is now ranked third in Group F.
