Aspiring Ashanti Regional Deputy Secretary, Lexy Abena Boahene, has officially filed her nomination to contest for the position, pledging to promote inclusive leadership, strengthen party structures, and enhance women’s participation in leadership.

Speaking to Kessben News after submitting her nomination forms, Ms. Boahene appealed to delegates across the Ashanti Region to support her bid, stressing that her election would further advance women’s representation in leadership in line with the objectives of Ghana’s Affirmative Action legislation.

She noted that women have consistently played vital roles in the growth and success of the party and should continue to be given meaningful opportunities to contribute at all levels of decision-making.

Ms. Boahene described the occasion as the beginning of another significant chapter in her political journey.

“Today, I officially filed my nomination forms to contest for the position of Deputy Regional Secretary for the Ashanti Region. This marks the beginning of another important chapter in my political journey,” she said.

She expressed appreciation to delegates across the region for the trust and encouragement they have shown her over the years.

“It has been a privilege to serve, work alongside, and build meaningful relationships with delegates across the Ashanti Region. I remain deeply grateful for the trust, encouragement, and support I have received,” she stated.

Ms. Boahene also acknowledged the strong show of support she received during the filing of her nomination, revealing that she was accompanied by party executives and backed by several key figures within the party.

She said she was honoured to have her nomination endorsed by Members of Parliament from across the Ashanti Region, constituency chairmen, and respected technocrats, describing their confidence in her as both humbling and inspiring.

Looking ahead, she reaffirmed her commitment to serving with integrity, dedication, and competence if elected. She pledged to work closely with party executives, members, and other stakeholders to promote unity, strengthen party organisation, and advance the party’s agenda across the Ashanti Region.

She also offered a prayer for God’s guidance as she pursues the position.

“As I embark on this next phase, I pray that God continues to grant me strength, favour, wisdom, and grace every step of the way,” she said.

Ms. Boahene concluded by urging delegates to vote for her during the upcoming regional elections, saying their support would not only strengthen the party’s leadership but also reinforce its commitment to inclusive governance and the empowerment of women.
