QNET, Manchester City Host Football Clinic for 25 Ghanaian Kids in Accra

QNET and Manchester City wrapped up a four-day football clinic in Accra, giving 25 young Ghanaian players, including six girls, direct coaching from Manchester City’s academy coaches.
The clinic, held as part of QNET’s partnership with Manchester City, focused on technical training alongside life skills including discipline, teamwork, communication and confidence.
“Watching these children train with the Man City coaches reminds me why coaching matters so much,” said *Trevor Kuna*, Chief Network Development Officer at QNET. “Talent is everywhere in Ghana, passion was clearly on that pitch. But talent must be developed.”
Kuna said the experience mirrors QNET’s approach to its independent distributors. “We cannot give somebody a business without helping them, without coaching them. Just like these children were never left alone for the last three days, every step of the way there was correction and a learning moment. We coach them, we teach them, we teach our distributors how to do this business professionally.”
The 25 participants were selected from local academies already providing daily training. QNET said it now aims to support those academies with equipment and resources to sustain the players’ development.
*Cherif Sarr*, Regional General Manager for QNET Sub-Saharan Africa, attended the clinic for the first time in Accra. He said the initiative builds on similar programmes QNET has run in Nigeria, and underscored the company’s long-term commitment to African youth sport.
“Sport is a great way for people here in Africa to succeed in life,” Sarr said. “Our ambition is that down the road, in 10 or 15 years, we see some of these kids become top Ghanaian players.”
QNET has been a partner of Manchester City since 2014. The company said the clinic is part of its broader goal to raise standards and transfer knowledge in every market where it operates.
The event concluded with a live screening of Manchester City Vs Aston Villa match at the Marriot Hotel in Accra where QNET officials answered questions on the clinic and outlined plans to expand support for grassroots academies across the region.
