A leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the North East Region, Hamidatu Abdul-Rahaman, has declared her intention to contest for the position of North East Regional Women’s Organizer.
Ms. Abdul-Rahaman, who is campaigning on the mantra #TheHamidaMovement, is seeking the mandate of delegates with a message of empowerment and inclusion.
Her motto, “Your Voice. Your Strength. Your Choice,” is anchored on the vision to amplify the voice of women in the party and strengthen grassroots participation across the six districts of the North East Region.

The campaign poster, which features Ms. Abdul-Rahaman in NDC colours with the inscription “VOTE”, has already gained traction on social media among party supporters in the region.
Sources close to her campaign say her decision to contest is driven by a desire to reorganize and energize the women’s wing of the party, make it more visible and formidable ahead of the 2028 general elections, and ensure that women are at the forefront of the NDC’s Resetting Agenda.
The North East Regional Women’s Organizer contest is expected to be one of the keenly watched races in the upcoming regional executive elections, with Ms. Abdul-Rahaman positioning herself as a unifier with the capacity to mobilize women at all levels.
