Your life is more precious, Avoid taking photos or siphoning fuel at accident scenes – NPA

The National Petroleum (NSA) has issued a strong warning to the public, urging people to stay away from fallen fuel tankers and avoid attempting to siphon fuel or take photographs at accident scenes.
Speaking through its team in the Ashanti Region on Kessben FM, officials emphasized that such incidents pose serious risks, including explosions and fires that can lead to multiple casualties.
The NPA cautioned that although fuel spills may attract crowds seeking to collect fuel or capture images, the danger involved far outweighs any perceived benefit. “If you see a fuel tanker slide on the ground, don’t get close to tap the fuel or take pictures. Your life is more precious than that,” the team stressed during the broadcast.
Authorities highlighted past incidents where individuals lost their lives due to fuel tanker explosions after gathering near accident sites. The agency is therefore appealing to communities to prioritize safety and allow emergency responders to handle such situations.
The NPA also encouraged the public to report accidents promptly and keep a safe distance to help prevent avoidable tragedies.
