“I Will Be Transparent And Reliable”: Hajia Ruka Saida Ahmed Files For NPP National Treasurer

Businesswoman and NPP financier, Hajia Ruka Saida Ahmed, has filed her nomination to contest for National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the National Delegates Conference slated for October 3 in Kumasi.
Speaking to the media after filing at the party headquarters, Hajia Ahmed said she has been with the party through thick and thin and is ready to serve with integrity.
“I have been a supporter from town to town, from polling station to national campaign. I’ve been a member from way back. I’m here to offer myself to the great party. When you don’t have money, you give your life. You put your mind to it,” she said.
She pledged to be a strong, transparent and reliable steward of the party’s finances.
“I am a woman who is going to be a very strong, transparent, reliable treasurer. I know all the structures in the party because the constitution says the treasurer must work hand-in-hand with the General Secretary and the Chairman.”
“I’m assuring this crowd today, I am not arrogant. As treasurer, I will work hand in hand with the chairman, I will work with the general secretary, and I will work with all the national executives.”
Touching on her background, Hajia Ruka Saida Ahmed described herself as a businesswoman with deep roots in the private sector.
“I am an importer and exporter. I am a road contractor as well. I belong here. I have supported this party with my own resources. I will continue to do my best.”
She promised to bring more resources to the party and ensure prudent management.
“I’m somebody who is going to bring more resources to this party. I am connected. I have supported this party with my mother, my heart. I ask you to observe this party and support me. I will continue to do my best when you give me the opportunity.”
The National Treasurer contest is expected to be keenly contested as the party seeks to rebuild its financial base to prosecute the 2028 general elections.
