Strengthening Security Ties: IGP Welcomes CDS to National Police Headquarters

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, warmly welcomed the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Major General William Agyapong, to the National Police Headquarters in Accra on Monday, April 14, 2025. This historic visit marked the first time Major General Agyapong had visited the Police Headquarters in his capacity as CDS, underscoring the significance of inter-agency collaboration in addressing Ghana’s security needs.
Guard of Honour Parade
A Guard of Honour parade was held in honour of the CDS, showcasing the respect and camaraderie between the Ghana Police Service and the Defence Staff. The ceremony, attended by members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), highlighted the commitment of both security agencies to work together seamlessly.
Enhancing Inter-Agency Collaboration
During their meeting, the IGP and CDS reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening inter-agency collaboration. They discussed pressing security issues, including the situation in Bawku, and explored ways to enhance cooperation between the police and defence staff. This joint effort aims to ensure the safety and security of Ghanaians and protect the country’s interests.
