Rambo Styled Raid on Former Finance Minister’s Home, President Mahama Must Take Responsibility and Punish the Culprits! – Musah Superior

Ghana’s democracy is under threat, and President John Mahama’s silence is deafening. Nearly a week after armed military and police personnel stormed the residence of former Finance Minister Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta, the nation is still without answers. Who ordered this blatant violation of a citizen’s rights? Why has there been no accountability?

Musah Superior, a leading political figure, has issued a scathing condemnation of the President, accusing him of failing in his constitutional duty to protect citizens and uphold the rule of law.

Mahama’s Inaction: A Betrayal of Ghana’s Democracy

“The President is pretentiously silent on the matter. The military high command doesn’t care! The Defence Minister, Chief of Defence Staff, and the Inspector General of Police are absolutely indifferent,” Musah Superior declared.

In a democracy, such an attack on a private citizen’s home should trigger immediate investigations and swift justice. Instead, Ghana’s leadership appears uninterested in holding anyone accountable. For Musah Superior, this is an outright betrayal of constitutional governance.

“Clearly, President Mahama has lost it. He has failed to protect a citizen as enshrined in the constitution of the Republic of Ghana. This Rambo-like raid in a liberal democratic dispensation makes nonsense of constitutional governance and undermines the peace of the state!”

Return of the Dark Days? A Nation at a Crossroads

The shocking invasion has raised serious concerns about the direction Ghana is heading. Is the country witnessing the return of military intimidation and dictatorship-style governance?

“What is happening to our country? Have the dark days of military brutality and attacks on democracy returned? Is the nation being reset to wallow in a dictatorship, fear, and anarchy?” Musah Superior asked.

The people of Ghana fought for democracy, and they will not sit back as their freedoms are trampled upon. The failure to act on this illegal raid signals dangerous times ahead.

Where Are Ghana’s Civil Society Organizations?

Musah Superior is also calling out Ghana’s Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), which were highly vocal against perceived governance failures under the previous administration. Now, he says, their silence on this troubling raid is unacceptable.

“The deafening silence of the CSO community on this particular raid is troubling. I challenge the CDD, IMANI, and others to demonstrate the zeal they showed in their advocacy against ‘bad’ governance during the past administration. Your work is not completed after the NDC won power. Ghanaians will not allow you to operate unchecked.”

A Direct Call to President Mahama: Act Now!

Musah Superior has issued a strong demand to President Mahama: break your silence, take responsibility, and punish the perpetrators of this unlawful attack.

“The President must not stay aloof. He must make a public statement on this matter and cause an immediate investigation into this impunity. Those involved must be arrested and face the full force of the law,” he insisted.

The Future of Ghana Hangs in the Balance

This moment is critical for Ghana’s democracy. Will President Mahama prove that he is committed to justice and the rule of law, or will he allow impunity to fester under his watch? The nation is waiting—and history will judge his response.
