Kotoko offers Justice Blay a 2-year contract extension
Asante Kotoko has offered midfielder Justice Blay a two-year contract extension. Blay’s current deal with the Porcupine Warriors is set to expire in January 2025, and the extension is seen as a significant step in ensuring that the experienced Ghanaian midfielder remains a key part of the team for the upcoming seasons.
Justice Blay has been a pivotal figure in the Asante Kotoko’s team since joining the club in 2019. Known for his tactical intelligence, hard work, and leadership qualities, Blay has played a vital role in Kotoko’s successes, particularly in the Ghana Premier League.
His ability to break up opposition attacks, dictate the tempo of the game, and provide crucial stability in the middle of the park has earned him admiration from fans, coaches, and teammates alike.
The offer of a two-year contract extension is a clear indication of Kotoko’s desire to build a strong, experienced core for the future. By securing Blay’s services until 2027, the club aims to keep a player who provides not only on-field quality but also valuable experience for the younger players coming through the ranks.
Over the past few years, Justice Blay has developed into one of Kotoko’s most reliable players. His no-nonsense approach to the game, combined with his ability to read the match and intercept passes, has made him one of the most respected midfielders in the country. His ability to play both defensive and box-to-box roles gives coach Prosper Narteh Ogum flexibility in his tactical setups, making Blay an indispensable asset in the squad.
Blay is however yet to agree with the new deal offered to him as the local media reports indicate that other clubs are chasing him with juicy offers.
