Cleaning Up Obuasi: Municipal Assembly Launches Sanitation Initiative
The Chief Executive of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly Honorable Elijah Adansi-Bonah has said the Assembly has put in place measures to deal with the sanitation challenges facing the Municipality.
Speaking at a town hall meeting on Tuesday,29th October 2024, the MCE said the Assembly has procured tricycles to delay with domestic waste as well as waste generated at the central business district.
He also hinted of plans by the Assembly to procure garbage trucks to help delay with sanitation challenges in Obuasi.
This town hall meeting provided an inviting opportunity for open discussions and deliberations aiming to address challenges and foster development within the Obuasi Municipality.
This was the second town hall meeting organized by the Assembly this year.
The Municipal Budget Analyst Edna Vivian Arkoh took participants through the Assembly’s revenue performance and expenditure since the beginning of the year 2024.
She also presented the 2025 draft fee fixing resolution to participants for onward discussion.
The Municipal Physical planning officer Agnes Amoah also sensitized participants on the processes involved in acquiring building permit.
The Chief of Bogobiri a suburb of Obuasi Nana Owusu Akyeaw Brempong commended the Obuasi Municipal Assembly for upholding transparency and accountability in governance.
In attendance were chiefs, opinion leaders, members of landlords association, market women, representatives of the Ghana Roads Transport Union ( GPRTU), Assembly members, Unit committee members, MUSEC members and Heads of department.
The participants shared their concerns in an open forum.
