NPP need to break their norm of financial recklessness before they can break the 8 – Adel Umar Ibrahim
Adel Umar Ibrahim, a member of the opposition NDC party, has strongly criticized the ruling NPP party for its handling of Ghana’s finances.
He made this daring statement with regard to Hon Agyemang Kweku Kwarteng’s article on “If you want to break the 8, you must first break the norm”
He says they have made a mess of things, like a Ponzi scheme that has left Ghana deeply in debt.
“The NPP has made everything Ponzi, to the extent that they’ve even made God a Ponzi scheme,” Mr. Adel Umar Ibrahim said.
He also criticized their borrowing culture by saying, “the NPP has borrowed too much money, increasing Ghana’s debt from 122 billion to 742 billion.”
He accuses them of lying to Ghanaians and wasting money on useless projects.
“They said they’re going to build a church for God, but it’s just a Ponzi scheme,” Ibrahim said, referring to the National Cathedral project, which has cost over 50 million dollars. “They’ve spent our money without anything to show for it.”
Mr. Ibrahim also mentioned other projects that have wasted money, including the Pwalugu dam (12 million dollars), Agyapa deal (12 million dollars), and Skytrain (2 million dollars).
“If they can’t manage our money, how can they win another election?” Mr. Ibrahim asked. “They need to break their norm of financial recklessness before they can break the 8.”
Ibrahim warns Ghanaians about the dangers of the NPP’s financial mistakes and says it’s time for a change in leadership.
