Dr. Mrs. Ellen Hagan inducted as Vice President of the Bible Society of Ghana
The Bible Society of Ghana (BSG) with its catch phrase “Making God’s Word Available and Affordable have inducted Dr. Mrs Ellen Hagan as the Vice President of the Society at a colourful ceremony at Mt. Zion Methodist Church, Ghana at Sukumono a suburb of Accra.
Speaking to the media at the well-attended induction ceremony, Dr. Mrs. Ellen Hagan expressed her profound gratitude to people from all walks of life for their support in making the occasion a reality and a memorable one.
She however explained that the position of this kind requires spiritual knowledge and wisdom to propel and guide her to deliver to the admiration of the management and staff of the BSG.
She therefore called on all to support her in the discharge of works and urged all to support her to bring to bear innovations and initiatives to help advance the operations of the BSG particularly Bible translations in the various Ghanaian Languages and making the Bible available to Christians.
Asked how she will facilitate financial support for Bible translation and other projects, Dr. Mrs. Hagan said she will put in place measures and structures to enable the society reach out to individual, benevolent societies, philanthropists among others to support the institution in its quest to translate the Bible in many local languages.
A citation in these regard was honoured to her as a gesture of her commitment, love and compassion for her line of duty.
For his part, the General Secretary of the BSG, Very Rev. John Kwesi Addo Jnr. congratulated the incoming Vice President saying she has all the attributes to enhance the operations of the Bible project as well as engage relevant bodies and individuals to seek financial support for Bible translations and appeal to the public to sign on to the Bible project.
He hinted that it takes $20 dollars to translate a verse in the Bible and called on people to donate towards the Bible translation project to make God’s word available and affordable to Christians.
