In preparation for the general elections of 2024, party delegates of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) are presently casting their votes to select the party’s flagbearer.
More than 200,000 delegates will cast ballots in each of the 275 constituencies throughout the nation.
Members of Parliament, chief executives of the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District levels of government, ministers and their deputies, NPP founding members, members of the party’s National Council, patrons, and elder councils are among the delegates that make up the Electoral College.
The race today is between Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President, Dr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the MP for Assin Central, Dr. Owusu Akoto Afriyie, the former Agriculture Minister, and Francis Addai-Nimoh, the former MP for Mampong.
