‘Chelsea should’ve been sold to Chairman Wontumi’ – Ghana Chelsea fans react to Villa defeat

On social media, angry Chelsea supporters are reacting to their team’s most recent Premier League loss to Aston Villa.

The Blues’ season-long difficulties continued on Sunday when they were defeated 1-0 by Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.

Ollie Watkins’ late goal sealed Chelsea’s defeat after Malo Gusto’s red card left them down to 10 men in the second half.

Defeat to Aston Villa means Mauricio Pochettino’s side has won just one league game this season and are now 14th on the table.

With more difficult fixtures to come in the next few weeks, some Blues fans took to social media to slam the team’s performance.

While owners have come in for criticism for the way they’ve run the club, others also took at the players for massively underperforming.

Meanwhile, Ghanaian Chelsea fans reacted after the game that the NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Chairman Wontumi, would’ve run the club better than Todd Boehly.

You may remember that Chairman Wontumi shocked the world last year by announcing his plan to buy the Premier League club.

After mounting pressure in the wake of the Russia-Ukraine war, Roman Abramovich announced that he was prepared to sell the club and eventually, the American Tod Boehly bought the club at £4.25bn
