Appoint a coach early & let him do his own recruitment – Amos Frimpong to leadership of Kotoko (Video)
Amos Frimpong, a former captain of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has pleaded with the club’s management to hire a coach quickly and give him the freedom to do his own recruitment.
Speaking in an interview on Extra Time on Kessben TV, Amos stressed that the coach that will be appointed must have the freedom to recruit players that will fit his system.
The former Captain lamented the unhealthy culture in which coaches are frequently sacked and appointed in the middle of a season.
“What I will say to the leaders is that going forward, next season the coach that will be appointed should finish the season. If you bring in a coach and you change him in the middle of the season, the new one that comes in has his own formation and system for certain kinds of players he needs.
So I will plead that going forward, we should appoint a coach early so that he will do his own recruitment and select players that will fit his system” He said.
