I still regret not playing for Kotoko, My son will play for them – Don Bortey

Hearts of Oak legend Bernard Don Bortey has revealed that playing for Asante Kotoko was one of his biggest dreams, admitting that it still hurts him that he never got the opportunity to represent the Porcupine Warriors.
Speaking on Kessben TV, the former Ghanaian international expressed his lasting disappointment over the failed move but disclosed that he hopes his son will fulfil that dream by playing for the Kumasi-based club.
“I have always wanted to play for Asante Kotoko. It hurts till now that I couldn’t play for Kotoko. My son will play for Asante Kotoko,” Don Bortey stated.
Despite his legendary status at Hearts of Oak, Don Bortey’s comments reveal his long-standing admiration for Kotoko and his desire to see his son wear the famous red jersey in the future.
