Ameyaw Akumfi Calls For Unity and Commitment In NPP
One of the favourite contestants for the up coming Chairmanship position of the New Patriotic Party has advocated for Unity, Discipline and Commitment In the party.
According to Professor Christopher Ameyaw Akumfi, the Clarion call now is unity, discipline and commitment if the dream of the party is to be realistically achieved. “As a party we must unite to fight as a team to achieve our objective of breaking the the eight and this is not negotiable” he postulated.
The professor who commands a lot of respect and goodwill across the length and breadth of the party therefore appealed to the rank and file of the party to close their ranks to truly break the eight stressing that without those benchmarks, the chase will be a mirage. The professor made this statement when he spoke on the future of the party and the what to do to cross the border to the promised land. “l can see victory beckoning but that can only be achieved if we all gird our loins and join hands to together as one strong united party because our opponents who are lurking around can capitalize on our factions as a weakness to sail through.
We must not inflict ourselves with factionalism and camps building” .Hon Ameyaw Akumfi intimated that, he doesn’t belong to any camp or faction but only NPP and he remains a loyal and staunch member of the part, through and through. “Am prepared to work with anyone who will emerge as the flagbearer of our great party because l owe allegiance to the party first before any other individual. So for me, the party is first before any one else.
He expressed his misery regarding the low level of commitment by party faithfuls as a result of some developments in the party over the years especially the neglect of the grassroots that had resulted in the apathy and disinterestedness growing in the party. “If I win , and l know am going to win, my major preoccupation will be to bring all aggrieved and disillusioned party members of the party together to get a solid strong party base that can produce resounding victory”.
He invited clean and unblemished competition and campaign prior to the July elections. After all this is an internal party elections among themselves and he says he is prepared to reach out to the defeated after the election since he preaches Unity. He intimated that soon after picking his forms, he will launch his campaign and switch into full scale campaign and put out his messages and plans for the party and the country.
