Kotoko supporters blame E-Ticketing as the cause of the poor attendance at Baba Yara stadium
The Circles chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko supporters, Christopher Damanya says one of the major factors affecting the stadium attendance at the Baba Yara sports stadium is the introduction of E-Ticketing.
The supporters’ leader speaking on Kessben TV said not all football fans are IT-friendly therefore there is a need still make room to purchase tickets at the gates.
E-ticketing was first introduced in the Ghana vs Nigeria first leg playoff game at the Baba Yara Sports stadium.
Despite some challenges in its introduction, many fans patronized tickets using the electronic platform.
Following the success of the introduction, the ministry of sports in collaboration with the NSA directed all Government-owned stadia to use E-ticketing.
Asante Kotoko first used E-ticketing in the game against Accra Hearts of Oak which recorded a good attendance, however, after the Hearts game, patronage of the games has been very poor using the E-ticketing to sell the games.
