Men of God must be fed by the nation, Anything they are involved in goes well – Prophet Elvis Kwakye (Sumsum Boafo)

Prophet Elvis Kwakye, popularly known as Sumsum Boafo of the Jesus Power Embassy in Kronum-Afrancho, has called on the Ghanaian government and the nation at large to prioritize the welfare of men of God.
Speaking on Kessben FM’s Drive Time Show with Fante Quoo, the Kumasi-based prophet asserted that spiritual leaders play a critical and often underestimated role in the socio-economic and spiritual progress of the nation.
He emphasized that when men of God are involved in national issues or decisions, things tend to go well, citing divine favor and spiritual insight as contributing factors.
“Men of God must be fed by the nation. If the nation invests in them, the country will prosper because anything they are involved in goes well.” He said.
According to Prophet Kwakye, spiritual leaders are not only shepherds of individual souls but also key influencers in the destiny of nations. He explained that when prophets and pastors are cared for and respected, their spiritual covering brings blessings, protection, and direction to the people and leadership of the land.
He likened the role of men of God to that of biblical prophets who advised kings and guided entire nations to prosperity and peace. “In the Bible, nations that listened to and honored their prophets thrived. Ghana is no different,” he said.
Prophet Kwakye specifically urged the government to create policies or support systems that acknowledge the contributions of religious leaders. While stopping short of proposing a formal salary structure, he hinted at state-sponsored welfare initiatives, stipends, or infrastructure support for churches that are proven to be impacting their communities positively.
He argued that just as the nation invests in security forces, education, and healthcare, similar attention should be given to the spiritual well-being of the people, with pastors and prophets playing a central role.
