No Woman Is A Failure – Comfort Darbo
Being a woman in the land of Africa in itself is ai accomplishment vis a vis for a woman to commit herself in a masculine dominated political arena.
Women in Ghana over years have played pivotal roles in various political activities and in other sphereof activities yet our representation is insignificant although (women) we are the majority population in this country.
Hon. Sara Adwoa Safo is not a failure in life (with all due respect) she has made a noteworthy mark in the political history of this nation;
She as the first Woman 2nd Majority Leader in the 7th Parliament of this nation, first ever Procurement Minister, now the Minister for Gender children Social Protective and three consecutive times member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya in the capital city of this country.
The woman has sacrifice so much in building this nation and therefore worth to be celebrated but not to mistreat her.
Her effort and contributions has given confidence and encouragement to other women who envisage to continue the race gender equality.
In as much as some of us disagree with her continuous absence from Parliament, constituency and Gender ministry is affecting administrative duties and other activities and I also differ from constant attacks on verbal abuse on her.
Ghana as a sovereign member for the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) has pledged to protect women against all forms of discrimination including such an abuse form some party members and some others.
This nation is govern by the constitution and the rule of law if the woman minister has offended any of these rules then let her face the consequences and please stop the personal attack on her .
As a developing nation the agenda must be how we can collectively support amplify and resource women enough to be empowered economically socially and politically to rapid our development.
Infact we cannot build a nation without women participation, neither can build our homes without womens sacrifices and commitment
Let’s give women be needed respect.
