Kwasasem on Maakye: Fuel price reduction, Will transport fares be reduced – Passenger asks

Fuel prices have marginally been reduced effective from 15th November 2022 in Ghana.

This follows after the fuel prices were increased twice in the last 30 days.

The increment led to twice a price jump in transport fares in the spate of one month making it more difficult for all stakeholders, especially passengers.

Petrol has been reduced from GH17.99 to Gh16. 82 a liter and diesel has been reduced from Gh23.49 to Gh20.50 per liter.

Based on the reduction, the expectation is that the astronomical transport fares should be reduced.

After a day following the new price, the GPRTU and other stakeholders have all remained silent.

A caller on Kessben Maakye speaking on the Kwassem segment queried about the effect of the reduction on transport fares.
