Eradicating schools under trees: Hwineso No2 Methodist D/A primary study under trees

Pupils in KG I and 2 of Hwineso Methodist Primary School in the Atwima Kwawoma district of the Ashanti Region have been studying under trees since the beginning of this term.
During lessons, pupils and teachers are compelled to relocate their tables, chairs and chalk board anytime the sun comes up or the weather goes bad.
Classes end abruptly with the slightest sign of rains due to the absence of shelter for the school children.
Ants on the trees under, which classes are held, bite pupils and teachers, often leading to a disruption of lessons.

Speaking to kessben News’ reporter Nana Yaa, the head teacher of the school, Mr. Obeng Mensah said learning under trees was a difficult task and he appealed to government and philanthropists to come to their aid.
When kessben news team visited the school, the teacher in charge of these particular classes under the tree had left these young pupils to attend to some monetary issues at the bank.

As a temporary measure, the school had agreed on renovating an abandoned structure which has been ripped off by heavy rain storm to accommodate the KG pupils.
Kessben news also unraveled that one of the buildings which is no longer in use was constructed in 2008 by the J.A Kufour administration. The people say efforts to get the District Chief Executive, Nana Nkrumah, and Member of Parliament for the area Hon. Appiah Kubi, high ranking bishops of the Methodist church and the district education officer to attend to the issue has proved futile
School Management Committee member, Mr. John Ofosu also pleaded with government to come to their aid
