Manchester United FC will probably buy Ayew for €100m after he beat them by himself, says former mentor

The man who mentored Andre Ayew at Marseille can’t believe the French club let him leave for absolutely nothing

Swansea City could end up selling Andre Ayew for as much as £74m in the future, according to the man who guided his development at previous club Marseille.
Former Marseille president Pape Diouf has said the Swans could make a €100 million profit on the 25-year-old who joined Garry Monk’s side in the summer on a free transfer from the French club.
Ayew has scored in three of his four Premier League games so far for the Swans and starred in the excellent win over Manchester United on the weekend, netting the equaliser and setting up compatriot Bafetimbi Gomis for what proved the winner.
Diouf, president of Marseille from 2005 until 2009, quit after a difference of opinion with then-majority shareholder Robert Louis-Dreyfus and he insists the loss of Ayew for nothing indicates the state his former club are now in.
And the outspoken Diouf has also taken a swipe at Louis Van Gall and United themselves, saying that after splashing the cash on teenager Anthony Martial on transfer deadline day, United might soon be moved to follow that up with an even more extravagant bid for Ayew himself.
“Last Sunday, little Andre Ayew beat Manchester United practically all by himself,” said Diouf.
“And I see that this same Manchester club have bought a young 19-year-old from Monaco [Anthony Martial] for almost €80m. Maybe next year, if he continues to play like he is playing, Ayew will be bought for €100m by Manchester United.
“Ayew left Marseille for zero euro. I looked after him, I was his tutor, he was part of the family and he leaves us like that for zero euro, when Martial is worth €80m. That’s the demonstration of what’s happening these days at Marseille.”
