The same land that sent Wontumi to Jail is still being mined people in power – Harry Yaw Ogyaba

Harry Yaw Ogyaba has alleged that illegal mining activities are still taking place on the same land connected to the legal case involving Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Ogyaba claimed that while Wontumi has faced legal action over alleged galamsey-related offences, illegal mining is currently being carried out at the site by individuals associated with those in power. He questioned the consistency of enforcement against illegal mining and called for equal application of the law, regardless of political affiliation.
His comments come amid ongoing public debate over the government’s efforts to combat illegal mining and ensure accountability within the mining sector.
At the time of his remarks, there was no independent verification of the allegations he made regarding current activities at the site, and the individuals or authorities implicated had not publicly responded to the claims.
