Maresca Breaks Silence on Man City’s 115 FFP Charges Amid Verdict Delay
Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca says he is not concerned about the club’s ongoing Financial Fair Play (FFP) case, even though there is still no verdict on the 115 charges brought by the Premier League.
Maresca Remains Calm
Speaking before the new season, Maresca said the case has been discussed for years without any decision.
“Three years ago, when I was Pep Guardiola’s assistant, people were talking about the same thing. Three years later, nothing has happened. I have no concerns.”
He added that the investigation has not affected the team’s preparations for the new campaign.
Expert Questions the Delay
Football finance expert Stefan Borson said it is surprising that there is still no decision, even though the hearing ended in December 2024.
He believes the long wait is unusual and has left uncertainty hanging over the Premier League.
City Confident Despite Case
Manchester City have continued to spend heavily in the transfer market, including the reported £116 million signing of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.
Borson believes the club’s spending suggests City are confident they will be cleared of the charges.
However, he warned that if City are found guilty, they could face serious punishments, including heavy fines, points deductions or other major sanctions.
