Girl on the run after pouring acid on boyfriend
Police are on the hunt for a woman who fled after allegedly dousing her boyfriend with acid.
The incident occurred on Thursday at Madina after Eric Ohemeng broke up with the woman, Esther Enyornam Pekyi.
According to the police, Eric, who is in a critical condition is currently admitted at the 37 Military Hospital.
The Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command ASP Effia Tengey said: “This lady after pouring the acid on this gentleman bolted and the police have intensified their search for her. She poured acid on him and you can see the severe bruises on his face and also some part of his body. For now the victim is in a critical condition at the 37 Military Hospital.”.
Narrating the story, ASP Tenge said a taxi driver who earlier dropped the two off at Madina from North Kaneshie returned only to see the couple in a fight.
The driver said he attempted to separate the two but failed.
Another person who also attempted to separate the two was injured when the acid was poured on Eric.
“It is despicable that people will think and actually use acid as a weapon. The police will do everything possible to arrest the suspect and get to the bottom of this matter,” she stated sternly.
Eric Ohemeng is said to be a third-year student at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
