Rawlings, McBrown, others celebrate Akosua Adjepong
Former President Jerry Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings joined celebrities to mark the 25th anniversary of Akosua Adjepong’s musical career.
The event, also attended by Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Dzifa Abla Gomashi, attracted a huge crowd at the Accra International Conference Centre Saturday night.
The celebration concert, Akosua @ 25, was the culmination of activities, including a health walk and breast cancer awareness and screening, marking 25 years of an exceptional music career.
The rare occasion saw music greats such as Nana Kwame Ampadu, Amandzeba Nat Brew, Paapa Yankson, A.B. Crentsil, Rex Omar, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Ekow Micah and Akosua Adjepong performing on one stage.

Relative newcomers Sarkodie, MzVee, Edem and Becca also showcased their talent.
The wildcard on the night came from actress Nana Ama McBrown. Dressed in military uniform, she surprised many with her performance of Akosua Adjepong’s ‘Kokooko’.
Backed by her dancers and the Immigration Band, the ever-youthful Akosua Adjepong belted out an impressive playlist spanning her 25 years in music that had every hit song Ghanaians have danced to and loved over the years.
Patrons danced to well-known hits such as ‘Me Ye Obaa’, ‘Frema’, ‘Meni Otawo’ and ‘Kakyere Me’.
