Ghana Telecom Awards names 2014 winners
The leading ICT and telecoms companies have been awarded for their innovation. leadership and quality at the 4th Ghana Telecoms Awards held at the Movenpick Hotel on Saturday, May 31.
There were a number of multiple winners: Vodafone picked up seven awards: Mobile Broadband Internet of the Year; Telecom Wholesale Provider of the Year; Best Use of Social Media; Mobile Operator of the Year; Telecom Business Service of the Year; Marketing Campaign of the Year and Telecom Brand of the Year.
Another telecoms giant Airtel picked up three awards: Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Company; Best Mobile Money Service of the Year 2013; and CEO of the Year.
Smaller firms gave the giants a run for their money. ICT firm ZIPNET scooped four awards: ISP of the Year Award; ICT Company of the Year Award; ICT Entrepreneur of the Year (ZIPNET Founder and Executive Chairman, Mr Osei Owusu Korkor) and ICT Personality of the Year (ZIPNET Executive Director Mr Ernest Brown).
There were awards in 38 categories, including new categories under Retail, Telecoms, Financial Services, Apps and Cloud services.
The awards were organised by Mobile World.
