Let Your Wife Refund Her Allowances and Salaries – NPP Chairman Tells Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has been asked to advise his wife, Mrs. Mahama to refund all allowances and salaries paid to her during her tenure as Second and First Lady respectively.

The Second Vice Chairman for Suame Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Richard Asante, said Mrs. Mahama ought to have emulated the steps taken by Mrs. Rebecca Akuffo Addo and Mrs. Samira Bawumiah, current First and Second Ladies to refund all allowances and salaries paid to them.

Speaking to the media in Kumasi, Mr. Asante, disclosed that since the former First Lady has proven to be recalcitrant in such refund, Mr. Mahama should therefore advise her to do the needful. According to him, it will be a political disgrace to Former President Mahama to allow his wife to squander such money.

Mr. Asante, therefore, urged the Former President to act as a statesman to ensure such taxpayers’ money should be refunded to the state.
