In an era where many electorates choose intelligence and service over mediocracy and cacophony, Greater Accra NDC Regional Secretary hopeful, Godwin Ayaba Mahama, has expressed confidence in his bid to become the party’s next Regional Secretary, appealing to delegates to give him the mandate to serve the party at the regional level.
In a message to party executives and delegates ahead of the constituency elections, Mahama extended greetings to executives across all 34 constituencies in the Greater Accra Region, as well as aspirants who have filed their nominations to contest in the upcoming elections.
He noted that candidates aspiring for regional positions would engage delegates after the constituency elections, which are scheduled for Saturday October 24 and Sunday 25 , 2026.
As a hardworking and selfless young man who has till date devoted his intelligence to the party works nationwide, he insisted he was not new to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), describing himself as a committed party member with a track record of service and dedication.
According to him, he previously contested for the position of Deputy Regional Secretary four years ago and was encouraged by delegates to return when the opportunity arose.
“I believe it is my time now to assume the position of Regional Secretary,” he indicated, expressing optimism about his chances in the contest.
He reiterated that delegates have confidence in his competence, message and commitment to the party, and urged them to give him the opportunity to serve as Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the Great Akatamanso, NDC.
Mahama explained that the Regional Secretary position plays a crucial role in coordinating the party’s activities, including the work of chairpersons, organisers, youth and women’s wings, as well as communications.
He further appealed to delegates to consider his contribution to the NDC, particularly the party’s victory in the 2024 general elections, as they make their decision.
He believes that with the support of delegates, he can contribute more effectively to strengthening the NDC’s structures and advancing its interests in the Greater Accra Region and across the country.
The Greater Accra Regional Secretary contest is expected to be an important step in shaping the party’s regional leadership and organisational direction, as a vote for Godwin Ayaba Mahama (GAM) is a victory unfolding.
