Alhaji Seidu Agongo to Accra TV: Our True Test Is Trust
Founder of Class Media Group says new station will be built on credibility, not just cameras and studios

Founder of the Class Media Group (CMG), Alhaji Seidu Agongo, has charged the management and staff of the soon-to-be-launched Accra TV to make trust their guiding principle, describing trust as the true test of media success.
Speaking at the launch of Accra TV in Accra, Alhaji Agongo said in an era flooded with information, the real challenge for citizens is not access to information, but determining what is credible, transparent and true.
“Trust is the foundation of every successful relationship – from family, through community, to society. Trust is what allows citizens to believe in leaders, employees to believe in employers, businesses to believe in customers, and communities to believe in one another,” he said.
He noted that trust has come under extreme strain in recent times, with citizens questioning leaders and vice versa, and employees and employers doubting each other.
According to him, the media’s role as a bridge between institutions and the people can only stand if it is built on trust.
“I have realized over time that trust cannot be demanded. Trust gotten through demands is unsustainable. Rather, it must be earned,” he told the gathering of distinguished guests, partners and staff.
Alhaji Agongo said trust is earned through accuracy, fairness, consistency and accountability – by verifying before publishing, informing rather than inflaming, and having the courage to correct when the media errs.
He stressed that for Class Media Group, the umbrella body of Accra TV, its most valuable asset has not been studios, cameras or transmitters, but its credibility, and that will be the same for Accra TV.
“For me as a businessman who has seen almost all the cycles of life and entrepreneurship, the real litmus test of trust is not what we do when things are easy. It is what we do when transparency is difficult,” he said.
He reassured stakeholders, viewers and audiences that Accra TV is committing itself to being a trusted platform for facts, dialogue and accountability – a platform that listens, informs and serves.
“When trust grows, societies prosper, businesses succeed, and democracy flourishes,” he added.
Alhaji Agongo thanked the staff and audience of CMG for their love, hard work and dedication which have kept the group in business through turbulent and calm waters, and called on all to help build a culture of trust.
Accra TV is the newest addition to the Class Media Group, which already operates Class FM, Accra FM, Kumasi FM, Ho FM, Taadi FM, Dagbon FM, and Classfmonline.com among others.
