From Abedi Pele’s Grassroots Journey To Global Glory: André Ayew Backs The Next Generation Through The Constituency Games

The Ayew family’s journey from community football to the world stage embodies the Games’ promise that talent can emerge from anywhere when opportunity is provided.

When one of Ghana’s most accomplished footballers stands behind grassroots development, it sends a powerful message: the champions of tomorrow are waiting in our communities today.

Former Black Stars captain André Dede Ayew commended the Ghana–Anhui Chamber for donating 2,120 sports items to support the Constituency Games and help create structured opportunities for Ghana’s next generation of sporting talent.

He emphasised that early and sustained investment in young athletes is essential to rebuilding Ghana’s sporting future and called on corporate institutions, development partners and individuals to support the national initiative.

Ayew’s presence was more than an endorsement—it was an inspiration to every young person with a dream and a reminder that talent can emerge from any community when opportunity, encouragement and the right development pathway are provided.

The ceremony united distinguished leaders from Ghana’s sporting fraternity, the Ghanaian and Chinese business communities, and international organisations. They included Ghana Olympic Committee President Richard Akpokavie; NSA Board Chairman Professor Fred Awaah; NSA Director-General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah; RMPC Chairman Samson Deen; Ghana–Anhui Chamber Chairman Tang Wei; Chinese Societies Association President Tang Hong; United Nations security representative Lihong Shen; and André Dede Ayew.

Ghana’s future champions are already among us. Let us invest in them today, take opportunity to every constituency and ensure that no talent is left behind.
