Numo Kofi Okassa Diaka II, Wolomo, Ga Traditional Area, Abesse has graduated with a certificate in Criminal Prosecution and Litigation (CPL) course at a ceremony at the Ghana School of Law in Accra.
The (6) weeks course, the third in the series is designed to strengthen the country’s criminal justice delivery system and to build also the capacity of people entrusted with the responsibility of investigating crime and the prosecution of offenders.
Speaking to the media shortly after the graduation, Numo Kofi Okassa Diaka II said he has cultivated the habit of continuous learning and have further obtained other certificates from the Kofi Annan International Peace Keeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) in Conflict, Peace and Security and other certificates in various jurisdiction.
He said the knowledge acquired will challenge him to engage also in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) as part of the effort to streamline the ADR landscape in communities and the country at large, adding that the gesture will help reduce backlog cases at the courts.
He however urged Traditional Leaders in their respective communities to allow the country’s laws to work and refrain from laws which does not help in nation building and transformation towards economic growth and development.
Director of Ghana School of Law, Prof. Raymond Akongburo Atuguba said the GSL remains committed in ensuring that legal education does not end with qualities but continues throughout one’s professional life, adding that the administration of criminal justice demands fairness, integrity sound judgement of statutes and procedures.
On the GSL Pre-Bar course, Prof. Atuguba said it will commerce in September, this year, saying it is an important milestone under the Legal Education Act, 2026 (Act1170) since the school is well positioned to deliver the programme, adding that the course will serve as the bridge between academia legal education and professional practice.
“For every eligible LLB graduate seeking possible preparation for professional legal training, the Ghana School of Law remains the institution of choice”, he said and congratulated graduates by encouraging them to be committed to their respective professionalism.
The Registrar of GSL, Mrs. Juliet Mavis Adu – Adjei thanked the various faculty and stakeholders’ institutions for sponsoring their employees to take advantage of the course which forms part of the effort to enhance the country’s justice system.
