Hon. Abubakar Sedik Leads Massive Clean-Up Exercise at Kunsu as Stakeholders Rally Behind Sanitation

The District Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, led a massive and successful clean-up exercise at Kunsu on Tuesday, as part of the Assembly’s commitment to promoting environmental sanitation and creating a healthier community.
The exercise brought together the Kunsuhene, Assembly Members, staff of the District Assembly, opinion leaders, youth groups, traders, and residents, who joined hands to clean the principal streets, the Kunsu Market, and other public places.
Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Abubakar Sedik commended Kunsuhene, Nana Dr Agyemang Badu Duah I for his exemplary commitment to sanitation, noting that the chief has personally employed 16 people, whom he pays every month to keep the principal streets of Kunsu clean.
The DCE described the initiative as a model worthy of emulation and urged residents to complement the efforts of the traditional authority and the Assembly by maintaining clean surroundings at all times.
In support of the sanitation drive, Kofi Gyamfi, popularly known as MC Abrante3, donated a brand-new aboboyaa (motorised tricycle), one dozen shovels, one dozen rakes, 50 stick brooms, and three refuse containers to Kunsuhene to strengthen sanitation activities in the community.
Addressing the gathering, MC Abrante3 said the donation was his contribution towards keeping Kunsu clean and healthy. He encouraged residents to embrace communal labour and appealed to individuals, businesses, and philanthropists to support initiatives that promote environmental cleanliness and community development.
Kunsuhene, Nana Agyemang Badu Duah I expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Abubakar Sedik, MC Abrante3, and everyone who participated in the clean-up exercise and supported the sanitation campaign. He urged the people of Kunsu to make cleanliness a daily responsibility instead of an occasional activity, stressing that a clean environment is essential for good health and sustainable development.
The chief also used the occasion to address allegations linking him to illegal mining (galamsey). He openly declared that he is not involved in galamsey and urged the public to disregard such claims. He reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the environment and pledged to continue working with the District Assembly and other stakeholders to promote development while safeguarding the community’s natural resources.
The exercise ended successfully with participants reaffirming their commitment to sustaining the sanitation campaign and ensuring that Kunsu remains a clean, healthy, and environmentally friendly community.
