Recent Floods: Nature is fighting back, galamsey pits have been washed away – Dr Henry Kokofu

Former Bantama Member of Parliament and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman hopeful, Dr Henry Kokofu, has commented on the recent flooding in parts of Ghana, saying the heavy rains have washed away pits left behind by illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey.

Speaking on Kessben FM, Dr Kokofu stated, “Nature is somehow fighting back; pits dug by galamseyers have been washed away.” He argued that the environmental destruction caused by illegal mining continues to contribute to the country’s challenges and underscored the need for sustained efforts to protect Ghana’s natural resources.
