Hawa Koomson leads demonstration against sexual abuse in Obuasi amid Obuasi SHTS headmaster allegations

Former Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Mavis Hawa Koomson, has led a demonstration in Obuasi against sexual abuse, particularly involving schoolchildren, amid allegations of sexual misconduct against the headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS).
The demonstration is aimed at drawing attention to the need to protect students from sexual exploitation and abuse, while demanding accountability and justice for victims.
The protest comes at a time when allegations involving the headmaster of Obuasi SHTS and some female students have sparked public concern and renewed calls for stronger measures to safeguard students in educational institutions.
Participants are expected to use the demonstration to call on the relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate the allegations and ensure that appropriate action is taken if wrongdoing is established.
The development has further intensified discussions about student safety, institutional accountability and the need to protect young people from sexual abuse in schools.
