UNPAF Africa Commissions Rev. Fr. Andrew Campbell to Advisory Board at General Assembly in Accra

The United Nations Peace Ambassadors Foundation Africa LBG convened its General Assembly Conference Meeting on Friday, June 26, at the Korsah Conference Hall, RIDMA Hotel, Weija-Accra, where Rev. Fr. Andrew Campbell was commissioned as an Africa Advisory Board Member.

Held under the theme “Together for Peace. Together for Africa. Together for Development,” the high-level meeting drew chiefs, queenmothers, youth leaders, security agencies, diplomats, and development partners.

Homowo Peace & Security Network

Key state and civic institutions in attendance included the Weija Gbawe Municipal Fire Service, Weija Gbawe District Police Command, Weija Gbawe Municipal Ambulance Service, the National Commission for Civic Education – Weija Gbawe Municipal Assembly, and the Department of Social Welfare – Weija Gbawe Municipal Assembly.

UNPAF Africa said their presence reflects its commitment to the Homowo Peace & Security Network, an initiative that integrates traditional, civic, and emergency institutions to promote safer communities before, during, and after Homowo Festival 2026.

Rev. Fr. Campbell Joins Advisory Board

The highlight of the Assembly was the commissioning and investiture of Very Reverend Father Andrew Campbell as an Africa Advisory Board Member of UNPAF Africa LBG. His appointment reference is UNPAF/AFR/CONT/APPT/2026/022, following Mr. Ahmed Issaka who received 021.

Rev. Fr. Campbell is widely known for his work in peacebuilding, interfaith harmony, and community development across Ghana and Africa. He now joins UNPAF’s continental advisory team to provide moral leadership and strategic counsel on SDG 16: Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions, and AU Agenda 2063.

HRM Ambassador Nana Sultan Adamu Mohammed, Founder & Africa Executive Chairman of UNPAF Africa, said Campbell’s service record aligns with the Foundation’s goals.

“Rev. Fr. Andrew Campbell’s life of service to God, humanity, and peace makes him a natural fit for UNPAF’s mission,” he stated. “His voice will help us build bridges across faiths, ethnicities, and generations as we launch the Homowo Peace & Security Network for a safer Homowo 2026 and beyond.”

UNPAF Africa LBG is a continental peace and development body focused on conflict prevention, youth engagement, and institutional partnerships. The General Assembly resolved to deepen collaboration with traditional authorities and security agencies ahead of major cultural festivals.
