NAPO has not said anywhere that he wants to be the running mate for Bawumia. It’s we the Ashantis who are fighting for him to get that post – Adenta Kumi

Alfred Ababio Kumi, popularly known as Adenta Kumi and a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Team, has stated that former Education Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) has not personally campaigned to become the running mate of the party’s 2024 presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Adenta Kumi said the calls for NAPO’s selection have largely come from supporters, particularly those from the Ashanti Region.
“NAPO has not said anywhere that he wants to be running mate for Bawumia. It is we, the Ashantis, who are fighting for him to get that post,” he stated.
According to him, many party supporters believe NAPO possesses the leadership qualities and political experience needed to strengthen the NPP’s electoral prospects. He maintained that the advocacy for NAPO reflects the views of grassroots supporters rather than any personal ambition expressed by the former minister.
