12 of Ghana’s 16 Regions depend on KATH, yet development remains poor in the Ashanti region – Sammy Adu Boakye

The Chairman of the HEAL KATH Project, Sammy Adu Boakye, has expressed concern over the state of development at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), despite its critical role in healthcare delivery across the country.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Mr. Adu Boakye noted that KATH serves as a major referral center for 12 of Ghana’s 16 regions, making it one of the most important health facilities in the country. He, however, described the lack of significant development and infrastructure expansion at the hospital as unfortunate.
According to him, the increasing demand for healthcare services at KATH requires continuous investment and modernization to enable the facility to effectively serve the millions of Ghanaians who depend on it.
Mr. Adu Boakye called on stakeholders, government agencies, corporate organizations, and the public to support efforts aimed at improving facilities and healthcare delivery at the hospital through initiatives such as the HEAL KATH Project.
He stressed that enhancing the hospital’s infrastructure would not only benefit the Ashanti Region but also the many regions that rely on KATH for specialized medical care.
