MoFA To Launch GHC 100 Million Agricultural Education Transformation Fund On August 11

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture will on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, launch the Agricultural Education Transformation Fund, a new national endowment aimed at financing agricultural education, skills training and agribusiness innovation in Ghana.

The launch will take place at 10:00am at the Palms by Eagles Hotel.

A Permanent Fund for Agriculture

According to MoFA, the AETF has been established to provide long-term, sustainable financing for teaching, practical training, research, mechanization, infrastructure and entrepreneurship across agricultural institutions.

Unlike one-off grants, the Fund is structured as a permanent endowment. Its capital will be preserved while annual investment returns are used to support approved priorities.

“The Fund seeks to strengthen agricultural education by mobilising long-term investments to support teaching, practical training, research, innovation, infrastructure and entrepreneurship,” the Ministry stated.

GHC 3.5 million Secured, GHC 100 million Target

MoFA said commitments of GHC 3.5 million have already been secured toward the Fund.

The Ministry has set an initial endowment target of GHC 10 million by December 2026, with a broader goal of reaching GHC 100 million by December 2028.

Over time, proceeds from the Fund are expected to support practical learning, mechanization, research, technology development, faculty training, scholarships and institutional strengthening.

Partners Applauded

The Ministry acknowledged the Coalition of Agribusiness Partners for their role in bringing the AETF to fruition, describing their support as key to Ghana’s agricultural transformation agenda.

“Their collective support reflects not only their confidence in the leadership of the Honorable Minister and His Excellency the President, but also their unwavering belief that transforming agricultural education is the foundation upon which Ghana’s agricultural and economic transformation will be built,” MoFA said.

Stakeholders To Gather

The launch event is expected to bring together representatives from government, academia, development partners, financial institutions, agribusinesses, farmer organizations and the private sector.

MoFA is calling on all stakeholders to support the Fund to help build “a stronger, more innovative and resilient agricultural sector through investment in education and human capital.”
