We don’t use DV number plates for weddings, and it’s also not allowed to take children to school – DSP Bright Acheampong

Senior police officer in the Ashanti Region has clarified the proper use of official police vehicle registration plates, cautioning against their misuse.

Speaking on Amansan Tie on Kessben FM with Kwabena Owusu Dankwah (KOD), DSP Bright Acheampong stated that “DV” number plates are strictly reserved for no such activities.

He emphasised that such vehicles are not to be used for private activities, including attending weddings or transporting children to school. According to him, the clarification is necessary to prevent abuse of police authority and ensure discipline within the service.

DSP Acheampong added that the Ghana Police Service remains committed to professionalism and accountability, warning that any misuse of official resources will not be tolerated.
