Berekum Chelsea attack: The gang leader told us they did not know they were footballers – DSP Bright Acheampong

The Ashanti South Police Command says it has arrested suspects linked to the armed robbery attack involving a player, Dominic Frimpong of Ghana Premier League side Berekum Chelsea.
Speaking on Amansan Tie on Kessben FM with host Kwabena Owusu Dankwah (KOD), DSP Bright Acheampong disclosed that the gang believed to be behind the attack has been apprehended.
According to him, the suspected gang leader told investigators that they were unaware the victim was a professional footballer at the time of the incident. He added that the arrest forms part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on violent crime in the region.
DSP Acheampong assured the public that investigations are continuing to ensure all individuals connected to the case are brought to justice, while reiterating the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
