Latest by April this year, Ghana will exit the IMF deal NPP signed, which is why electricity bills keep going up – Hon. Vincent Asare Bediako

Hon. Vincent Asare Bediako, a former parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has asserted that Ghana will exit the International Monetary Fund programme signed by the previous government by April this year.
Speaking on Kessben FM with host Wofa Kofi Appiah, Asare Bediako alleged that the country’s ongoing economic challenges, including rising electricity tariffs, are linked to the bailout agreement signed under the former New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
“Latest by April this year, Ghana will exit the IMF deal the ex-government signed, which is why electricity bills keep going up,” he claimed during the discussion.
According to him, certain fiscal and structural conditions under the programme with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have contributed to adjustments in utility pricing as part of broader economic reforms.
