Bawumia’s popularity shot up compared to the last NPP primaries – Sam Pyne, former Kumasi Mayor
Former Kumasi Mayor, Samuel Pyne, has observed a noticeable surge in the popularity of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia compared to his performance during the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries.
Speaking on Kessben FM with host Wofa Kofi Appiah, Pyne highlighted the former vice president’s growing appeal among party members and the wider Ghanaian public.
According to Pyne, recent interactions and public reactions suggest that Bawumia’s support base has expanded significantly since the last internal elections, a development he considers positive for the party’s future electoral prospects.
He credited this increased popularity to Bawumia’s visibility across the country, his engagement with communities, and his contributions to national discourse.
Pyne also noted that the former vice president’s role in various government initiatives and economic discussions has helped elevate his profile and strengthen his appeal among NPP supporters. He described the trend as encouraging for the party as it gears up for future national elections.
