Constituents will be involved in appointing ministers & CEOs under Bawumia’s presidency to enhance grassroots in Governance – Rev Ntim Fordjour

Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, Member of Parliament for Asin South, has stated that constituents will play an active role in the appointment of ministers and chief executive officers under a Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia-led administration, as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots participation in governance.

Speaking on Kessben FM, the Asin South MP explained that the proposed approach is aimed at deepening democratic engagement and ensuring that government appointees are accountable not only to the presidency but also to the people they serve. According to him, involving constituents in the appointment process will help align leadership decisions with local needs and priorities.

Rev. Ntim Fordjour emphasized that governance should not be distant from the ordinary citizen. He noted that giving grassroots voices a say in appointments will promote transparency, reduce political imposition, and enhance public trust in government institutions.

He added that under Bawumia’s presidency, such inclusive governance measures would empower communities and encourage active citizen participation in national development. The MP described the proposal as a shift toward people-centered leadership, where feedback from the ground influences decision-making at the highest levels.
