Why should our opponents (NDC) tell us who takes our penalty kick for us? Because they are afraid of Bawumia Rev. – Ntim Fordjour, Asin South MP
Rev. Ntim Fordjour, Member of Parliament for Assin South, has questioned the involvement of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in discussions surrounding the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearership race.
Speaking on Kessben FM in an interview with Wofa Kofi Appiah, Rev. Fordjour asked why the NDC should attempt to influence who leads the NPP into the next election. “Why should our opponents tell us who takes our penalty kick for us?” he quipped, emphasizing that the choice of a flagbearer is strictly an internal party matter.
He further alleged that the NDC’s apparent support for a particular is driven by fear of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. According to him, the opposition sees Dr. Bawumia as a formidable contender whose ideas, competence, and national appeal pose a serious threat to their electoral chances.
Rev. Fordjour maintained that the NPP remains focused on selecting a candidate who can effectively articulate the party’s vision and secure victory in the general elections. He urged party members to stay united and not be swayed by narratives from outside the party.
