From Bolga, Asempanaye & Tepa Bonkrom – Mankranso SHS Teacher reveals how the 2025 NSMQ team was scouted

A teacher at Mankranso Senior High School has opened up about the extraordinary effort that went into assembling the school’s historic 2025 NSMQ team.
Speaking in an interview on Kessben FM, he revealed that the students who represented the school were not all originally from Mankranso SHS, but were carefully scouted from different communities to form a solid, competitive team.
According to him, one contestant was scouted from Bolga, another from Asempanaye, and the third from Bonkrom in Tepa. He explained that the decision to scout for gifted science students was part of a bold strategy aimed at boosting the school’s performance in national academic competitions.
The approach paid off remarkably. For the first time in the school’s history, Mankranso SHS qualified for the semi-finals of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), earning recognition and respect from schools across the country.
Their 2025 NSMQ journey not only marked a major milestone for the institution but also highlighted the impact of proactive talent development in education.
