Convention People’s Party Denies Involvement in Petition for President Mahama’s Removal

The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has issued a statement denying any involvement in a petition to remove President John Dramani Mahama from office. The party’s Central Committee, the highest administrative organ, has not sanctioned such a move, and any attempts to associate the party with the petition are unfounded.
CPP Disassociates from Petition
In a statement signed by Comrade Wing Commander Patrick Nelson Sogbodjor, Chairperson and Leader of the CPP, the party emphasized that its former Flagbearer’s running mate in the 2024 Presidential Elections Mr Wayoe Gjanamanti had made the claim about petitioning Parliament without the party’s knowledge or approval.
Public Urged to Disregard
The CPP has urged the public to disregard any attempts to link the party to the petition, reaffirming its commitment to its principles and values. The party’s statement concluded with the slogan “Forward Ever, Backward Never,” emphasizing its determination to move forward with integrity and purpose.
The CPP’s denial of involvement in the petition highlights the importance of verifying information and sources, particularly in the realm of politics where misinformation can spread quickly.
